About Us
The Hitchin' Post, LLC is located on Ed Minor Road in the small
town of Kimberly, AL. We are about 20 miles north of Birmingham,
about 4 miles East of Interstate 65.
The Hitchin Post is a family facility. Managed by our family,
Raymond and Loretta Reid, Ramona Harris, and Tavis Calloway, we
invite you to bring your family in for a visit

For a little history, our facility was formerly a fourth generation
family farm where we raised beef cattle, hogs, corn, and hay.
Horses and mules have always been a frequency here at the farm. The
desire for more community activity been a passion here at the farm
for a long time. With urban sprawl affecting the suburban and
outlying areas of Birmingham, we made the decision in Spring 2005 to
disperse of the cattle operation (having already done so several
years earlier with the hogs) and exclusively have horses. Not only
did we want to have horses, we wanted to have them for our community
The Hitchin' Post, LLC is a family facility. We ask that you respect
our facility as we raise our children and care for our horses and
yours. You are welcome to bring friends and family and pack your
picnic! Absolutely no alcoholic beverages are allowed on site. This
is strictly enforced!
Again, we invite you to stop in and see us! Sit for a spell on
the front porch or walk through the barn...whatever your heart

Directions
From Birmingham -- Take I-65 North to Exit 280.
Turn right off the interstate and go to Highway 31.
Turn right onto Highway 31 South.
Go approx. 1 mile and turn left at Kimberly Church of God on
Stouts Road.
Go to the first Stop Sign and turn Left onto Warrior
Kimberly Road.
Go approx. 1.5 miles and turn Right onto Bill Jones Road.
Go approx. 1.5 miles and turn Right onto Ed Minor Road.

From Cullman -- Take I-65 South to Exit 280.
Turn Left off the interstate and to to Highway 31.
Follow same directions from Birmingham. |
From the Pinson/Hwy 79 Area -- At the red light on
Hwy 79 that takes you to Hwy 75, you will want to turn onto
Narrows Road. (If you are coming from B'ham, this is a left
turn. From Cleveland, this is a right turn.)
Go approx 5 miles to the 4-way stop. Go straight through
intersection. (Road changes to Morris Majestic Road.)
Go approx 2 - 3 miles and turn Right at Haig Baptist Church
onto Bill Jones Road.
Go to second stop sign and turn Left onto Bill Jones Road.
Go approx. 3/4 miles and turn Left onto Ed Minor Road.
